Mark your calendars folks!  On Saturday, October 28, from 11 am to 4 pm we will be hosting a community celebration in honor of the 150th anniversary of Farwell House.  That’s right, the home built by Charles Farwell has been a part of the Frederick community for 150 years.  In honor of this milestone, we thought it would be fitting to host a community get together to celebrate.  Of course, there will be food, lawn games, and live music.  Lunch will be on us with Farwell House board members providing a variety of soups and breads for you to enjoy.  Feel free to bring a side dish or dessert to share if you would like. Remember this is a community event and we want you involved!  For your listening pleasure, musicians Jared Bullard and Kevin Dean will be performing throughout the afternoon. So bring a lawn chair and stay a while.  Maybe games are more your thing, we will have a variety of lawn games for you to participate in including tether ball and kickball.

This will also be a chance for you to see and hear about what we have done around the property as well as the next steps for Farwell House.  The first floor will be open for those interested in taking a look around inside (the second floor will not be available for tours at this time). Please keep in mind the home is still in the renovation process. We are also planning on having several Farwell House themed items for sale including t-shirts, stickers, buttons. This event is free and open to the public yet, donations are always welcome. We are looking forward to seeing you on the 28th!
